The band was formed early 2013, when Chris Cox, John Keston-Hole and Nick Clack, who had previously played together, decided to collaborate again in a new outfit, this time to play some Americana & Tex-Mex music

Initially, Chris was to be the upright bass player, but in early rehearsals he occasionally added an acoustic rhythm guitar to add to John’s electric guitar which instantly gave a more rounded and satisfying sound. He suggested a few of his own songs from his back catalog to further explore this new combination, these worked so well that they have now defined the direction of the band and he has started writing new songs especially for The Missing Persians

Of course, Chris now not being available to play bass meant the band required a replacement, he personally set about auditioning a few players and came up with Chas Maguire, who slotted into the band straight away. It would be hard to now imagine the band without Chas

By this time, the band had also found a natural music direction and could no longer be adequately termed Americana or Tex-Mex. The new songs touch on many different musical genres, Country Blues, Rock, Jazz, Soul, Funk & Reggae along the way, but each is developing a unique Missing Persians style

Our first album ‘The Missing Persians’ featuring 12 original songs is now available and can be purchased as a CD or downloaded via the links on the MUSIC section of this website

Also keep an eye on the gig page, as we are now starting to perform more regularly, having previously divided our time between drinking tea, eating fish and chips, rehearsing and recording (in that order)…
